Dianne was a K-6 grade music teacher for the Royal Valley School District. She was born December 25, 1967, in Clovis, New Mexico, the daughter of Gary and Mary Clark Burton. Dianne received a bachelors degree of music education and a master's degree of music therapy in 1992, both from the University of Kansas. She played in the Lawrence Town Band and in a quintet in Lawrence. Dianne was the sponsor for the Native American Singers and Dancers at Royal Valley High School. Dianne was an active member of the Lecompton United Methodist Church. She was married to Paul Hamersky on June 15, 1991, in Topeka; he survives her. Others survivors include: two daughters: Brittney Nicole and Megan Anne Hamersky, both of the home; father and stepmother: Gary and Jennifer Burton of Joplin, Mo.; mother and stepfather: Vic and Mary Galbraith of Bonner Springs, Ks.; two brothers: Todd Burton of Olathe, Ks., and Lance Burton of Joplin, Ks.; two step-brothers: Tye Grant of Kansas City, Mo., and Nathan Grant of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters: Jen Vedock of San Francisco, Ca., and Melinda Burton of Joplin, Mo.; two step-sisters: Elizabeth Shamblin of Miami, Ok., and Cassandra Spencer of Joplin, Mo.; grandparents: Robert and June Burton of Knoxville, Ia and Gertie Clark of Knoxville, Ia. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
