All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Weldon Franklin Horry, Jr. Obits 4-30 Funeral service for Weldon Franklin Horry, Jr., 62, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2003, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Weldon Franklin Horry, Jr. was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, May 21, 1940, to Weldon Franklin Horry, Sr. and Elizabeth Phillips Horry, passing at Fort Myers, Florida, April 25, 2003, of natural causes while visiting family. Weldon attended Chickasha Public Schools and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1958. Weldon entered the U.S. Navy on June 12, 1958 for 4 years. He served on the USS Shangri-La. Weldon married Ruby Gene Wallis in 1962. From this union a daughter, Teri Leann Horry and a son, Cary Timothy Horry were born. Ruby passed in a car accident in 1965, and Cary passed in 1966. Weldon married Cary Louise Gordon in 1969, and from this union were born a daughter, Katrina Beatrice Horry and a son, Kristopher Kelly Horry. He was also preceded in death by: parents; brother: Larry Gene Horry; 1 sister: Lahoma Ann Horry Young. Weldon is survived by: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Teri Horry Jones and Keith Jones of Pocasset, Oklahoma, Katrina Allison and Mark Allison of Fort Myers, Florida; 1 son: Kristopher Kelly Horry of Fort Myers, Florida; 4 grandchildren: Larry Gene Jones of Pocasset, Oklahoma, Kimberly Leann Jones of Pocasset, Oklahoma, Victoria Emily Allison of Fort Myers, Florida, Ryan Denehy Allison of Fort Myers, Florida Although these are Weldon’s immediate survivors, the family wishes to express that Weldon had an open-door policy. He welcomed so many into his home and into his arms. He comforted all that needed him, but his greatest attribute was how he gave guidance and support to so many. Although he is survived by his three children, Weldon had a host of adopted children. Many called him "Pops," "Dad," or Willie. Weldon loved his children very much and was a major part of their lives, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Weldon’s favorite things were fishing and hunting. He hunted with so many and was glad to give advice. Weldon worked for H and T Construction for years where everyone loved him.
