All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Chickasha OK Harvey, Sheryl Funeral service for Sheryl Sue (Gerlach) Harvey, age 46 of Brighton, Colorado, formerly of Chickasha were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2003, in the Epworth United Methodist Church. Rev Guy Langston will officiate. Sheri was born December 17, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the third child and second daughter of Bobbie Jean and Stanley Gerlach. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1975. In 1980, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. Degree in Journalism. Sheri belonged to the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and played on the OU women's golf team. She worked as a copy and layout editor at the Daily Oklahoman until her marriage in 1982, at which time she moved to New Orleans and worked on the news desk at the Times- Picayune newspaper. In 1986, she moved to San Antonio, Texas and continued her newspaper career. She covered golf and wrote a twice weekly golf column for the Express-News newspaper. Shortly after her son was born in 1988, she and her family moved to Denver where she worked at the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News. Sheri died at her home in Brighton, Colorado on May 27, 2003. Sheri was preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie Jean and Stanley Gerlach, and grandparents, Wilma and Haskell Bethurum and Nell Gerlach. Survivors include: husband-, Obbie Harvey of Brighton, CO; son- Craig Paul Harvey of Brighton, CO; sister & husband- Gayle and Robert Stewart of Spicewood, TX; brother- Craig Gerlach of Fairbanks, AK; nephew- Connor Gerlach of Fairbanks, AK; numerous other family and friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
