O. D. HARRIS Oscar D. Harris died at his home southwest of Verden at 900 a. m. on August 25, 1941, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 20 days. He had been in ill health for several months. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, August 28 at 330 p. m. with Rev. C. W. Taylor officiating. Mr. Harris was born in Ohio, March 5, 1870 but had lived south of Verden since 1903 on a farm. His wife, Martha E. Harris preceded him in death, May, 1933. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving members of his family are two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Teel, Lookeba, Mrs. Irma Murphy, Cement, nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Daniels and Mrs. Alma Shaw of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Interment was made in the Verden cemetery with Hansen Funeral Home in charge.
