HOWARD Services for Catherine A. Howard, 84, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with McRay Funeral Home. Catherine A. Howard was born April 26, 1919, and died on Sunday, March 14, 2004. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 17 March 2004 CATHERINE A. HOWARD Memorial service for Catherine A. Howard, age 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2004, in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Rev. Hal Greenfield and Rev. Charles Woltz will officiate. Catherine A. Howard was born the daughter of Robert Wiley Smith and Sarah Leona Flynt Smith on April 26, 1919, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She died on March 14, 2004, in Chickasha. Catherine grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. She attended Oklahoma College for Women for two years. Catherine moved to Dallas, Texas, for two years and then returned to Chickasha where she worked for Dr. Walter J. Baze, her adopted father. She later moved to Enid. Catherine returned to Chickasha in 1969, and worked at Crosley Dress Shop. She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lenie Weldon Smith and John Smith; son, Gerald David Herd; and her adopted parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Baze. Survivors include her son, Gene Herd of Valley Glen, California; sister, Edith Ann Smith of Chickasha; brother, Walter Smith of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, George Smith of Lawton; niece, Lezlie Morris of Chickasha; adopted sister, Frances Walker of Chickasha; and other loving family and friends.
