Ferrall Crockett Hurley was born Nov. 1, 1910, and died on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery Under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 February 2003 FERRALL CROCKETT HURLEY Long time Chickasha resident Ferrall Crockett Hurley died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2003, at the Chickasha Nursing Center. Ferrall was born in Chickasha on November 1, 1910. He grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1929. His father, Robert T. Hurley, managed the grounds of Shannon Springs Park during his youth. Many of the trees you see there today were planted by his father. For more than 45 years, Ferrall and his wife, Wilda Mae, owned and operated Hurley's Furniture Service on Missouri Avenue. Ferrall was an active community member. He was always involved in service to his church, support to local school functions, and the Boy Scouts of America. In 1972 he received the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts, the Silver Beaver Award, for his continual service since joining Troop 306 as a boy. He was preceded in death by his wife; Wilda Mae Gassaway Hurley, on October 2000. He is survived by: daughter and husband: Barbara and Jesse Allen of Tuttle; son and wife Robert and Vivian Hurley of Grahm, North Carolina; son and wife: George and Kay Hurley of Dallas, TX; grandson and wife: Kirk and Tammy Whitener of Moore; grandson: Keith Whitener of Owasso; grandson: David Whitener of Los Angeles, California; grandson and wife: Jeffery and Cindy Allen of Yukon; granddaughter and husband: Peggy and Chris Lowery of Chickasha; grandson: Stephen Ferrall Hurley of Dallas, TX; great granddaughters: Alisha and Ashland Whitener of Moore. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the First Ch ristian Church of Chickasha, where Ferrall was a member.
