Harwell, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, peacefully left this earth July 28, 2002. Bill was born in OKC May 9, 1927, and lived in the Tuttle/OKC area most of his life. Married Emily Clark, September 27, 1944. They raised one son, Jim Harwell, and one daughter, Rena Vandament. Emily passed away 2/12/1999, after 54 years of marriage. He served in the US Army in Germany in WWII, making a lifelong friend of Bud Herron, Durant. After 22 years with the OKC Fire Dept, Bill retired as captain. He was very proud of his grandsons, Tim & Jeremy Harwell, who continue in community service. He was active in the Trinity Bible Church; helping others without seeking reward or acknowledgment. April 21, 2000, Bill married the former Marlene Seaton and was happily blessed with Mark, Terry, and Jan. He loved BarBQ, apricot fried pies, and July Fourth fireworks. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor, honor, integrity, compassion to others, and generosity. Survived by wife, Marlene; sister, Wanda Gray of Tecumseh; sons, Jim Harwell & wife Eunice of Tuttle, and Mark Treat of OKC; daughters, Rena Vandament & husband John R of Tuttle, and Jan Hein of OKC. He counted as blessings 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Carl Harwell; mother, Grace Dye; brother, DJ Sparks; and stepson, Terry Treat. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Bible Church, 1508 Summerton Place, Yukon 73099.
