Kim Hayes will officiate. John Thomas Horn was born July 16, 1944, in Chickasha, and died on Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 8 April 2004 JOHN THOMAS HORN Memorial services for John Thomas Horn, 59, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held on Saturday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate. John was born to Jesse and Verna Horn on July 16, 1944, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died April 1, 2004. John graduated from Chickasha High School and Oklahoma State University. He was a Navy pilot from 1968 to 1973 and served in Vietnam. After military service, he returned to Chickasha where he farmed and worked as a machinist until his death. He was a botanist of great skill with a passion for nurturing and growing exotic and beautiful plants. He was the research secretary and newsletter publisher for the Central Oklahoma Bonsai Society for many years, attending seminars in New York and Mississippi to enhance the art of Bonsai. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Verna Horn. Survivors include his two sisters; Elizabeth and her husband Neal Bowyer, of Hurst, Texas, and Margaret and her husband Marvin Cooper, of Houston, Texas; one brother, Don and his wife Karen Horn, of Chickasha; two nieces; Laura Cooper Bratcher and husband Rick, of Houston, TX, and Sherry Weatherholt Davis and husband Joe, of Dallas, Texas; four nephews; Larry Weatherholt and wife, Paula, of Dallas, TX, Kyle Cooper and wife Elizabeth, of Boone, NC, Michael Horn, of Oklahoma City, and Ryan Horn, of Chickasha; three grand nephews; Andrew and Daniel Weatherholt and Sean Bratcher. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Oklahoma Bonsai Society c/o Dale Hayworth, 10874 South Santa Fe Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.
