F. Harmon Saturday, Dec. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Sam Anderson, pastor, officiated and was assisted by Rev. W. B. Cummings of Anadarko. Mrs. Dale Hendrick, Mrs. Aubrey Finley, Mrs. Bill Dyer, and Mrs. Max Upchurch, accompanied by Mrs. Don Brown at the piano, sang "I Won't Have to cross Jordon Alone," and "In the Garden." Pallbearers were Arthur McVey, Paul DeBoard, Debs Patterson, Aubrey Finley, Donald Lair, and V. E. Griffith. Honorary bearers were John Kern, Kirby Whitley, C. A. Niday, Floyd Hendricks, Ott Dirickson, and Harry Dodson. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home. Nellie Louise Loback was born Sept. 1, 1871 in Atchison, Kan. She was married to Peter Frank Harmon in 1889 in Burlington, Mo. They moved to Cottonwood Grove (Verden) in 1901 where the Rev. Harmom was a Baptist Mission preacher. They were charter members of the First Baptist Church in Verden. The Rev. Harmom died May 2, 1953. Mrs. Harmon passed away Dec. 9, 1964 in the Anadarko Hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown of Verden and Mrs. Zelma L. Ruse of Los Alamos, N.M.; three sons, Paul Harmon of San Antonio, Texas, Clarence Harmon of Fresno, Calif., and Howard Harmon of Los Angeles, Calif., eight grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
