Jun 1867 Delta Co., TX d. 3 Feb 1921 Rush Springs, OK. From an article in the paper . . . . Feb. 1921 Sam. H. Jackson Dead Sam. H. Jackson, prominent citizen, contractor and ex-Marshall of Rush Springs died suddenly at his home in the west part of the City, at thirty minutes past Twelve oclock Thursday. The Physician stated, that his sudden death was caused by the rupture of a blood vessel in his head. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and W.O.W. lodges and was 52 years old. He had lived here Thirty Years. The deceased leaves a wife and nine children, besides two brothers, and a host of friends, who mourn his sudden demise. We extend sympathy to the bereaved family in their sorrow. Would you please direct me to the proper place to find out how long he served as marshall or sheriff and if the office was by appointment or election. . . I know that he is buried in the Rush Springs Cemetery by his wife, Alice Cox Jackson. Alice was the daughter of early Rush Springs blacksmith, J.C.
