"Gene" Julian STERLING — Funeral for Burl E. "Gene" Julian, 71, Sterling, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Sterling Methodist Church with the Rev. Becky Baxter- Crowell, pastor, and Adraine Smith of Sterling, officiating. Mr. Julian died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at his home. Burial, with military honors, will be in Sterling Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Oct. 27, 1931 in the Burns Community, east of Sterling. He lived in the Sterling area most of his life, and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Lynne White, March 1, 1958 in Lawton. He was a mechanic, and retired from Noram Gas Transmission in 1994. He also worked for Allan Winham Chevrolet, Rush Springs, Sterling Public Schools, and Ron Stephens of Lawton. He was a member of Sterling Methodist Church, and the American Legion of Sterling-Fletcher-Elgin. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons: Charles Dewayne Julian and his fiancee, Cathy Cagle, Micheal Julian, and Kent Julian and his wife, Wanda, all of Sterling; four grandchildren: Michelle, Megan, Cody, and Travis; four sisters: Mae Pendley, Wanda Baker, and Thelma Henderson, all of Sterling; and Rose Jones, Lawton; two brothers: Melvin Julian, Sterling; and Bill Julian, Richwood, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Julian and Mary Burns Julian; and two brothers: Bud and Delbert. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
