::Ninnekah Cemeter--Ninnekah OK

The Chickasha Daily Express, May 13, 1971

Funeral services for MRS. MARY ELLEN JAMES, 91, of Ninnekah will be held 
at 2 p. m. Friday in the First Baptist

Church of Ninnekah.  Rev. Alvin McConnell of the Southern Baptist Church 
of Rush Springs will officiate, assisted by

Rev. Sam Garner of the First Baptist Church.  Mrs. James was born April 
10, 1880 in Grayson County, Texas. She married

La Fate (Lafayette) James in 1899 in Texas.  They came to Oklahoma and to 
Ninnekah in 1930. They farmed east of

Ninnekah. Mr. James died in 1939.  Mrs. James was a member of the First 
Baptist Church of Ninnekah.. She died

Wednesday in a local  nursing home.  Survivors include six sons. Cleo, 
Bill, Dock, and Haskell James, all of Ninnekah, Bud

James of Enid and Tom James of Porterville, Ca.; four daughters, Mrs. Bill 
Bates of Chickasha, Mrs. Lloyd Houck of

Blanchard, Mrs. Annie Duncan of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Norma Windle of 
Weatherford, Texas;  one sister, Mrs. Dillard

James and one brother, John Richardson of Texas.  Interment will be in the 
Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of

Brown's Funeral Home.
