Johnston was born July 7, 1916, in Longview, Texas, and died on Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, in Hot Springs, Ark. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 16 September 2002 TOY T. JOHNSTON Funeral service for Toy T. Johnston, age 86, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Chickasha, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the Laverty Baptist Church. Rev. Ted Bulla of Duncan will Officiate. Toy T. Johnston was the third of four daughters of Ransom Burney Prescott and Hattie Foust Prescott, born July 7, 1916, in Longview, Texas. She died on Friday, September 13, 2002, in a Hot Springs, Arkansas, hospital. Toy was a member of the Laverty Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, a homemaker, a seamstress and volunteer. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Delbert Johnston; two sisters, Christine Higgs of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mickey Rutledge of St. Louis, Missouri. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law: George and Loretta Johnston of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter and son-in-law: Lynda and Tom Hayes of Edmond; three grandsons: Kurt Johnston of Bentonville, Arkansas, Travis Reed of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jason Reed of San Francisco, California; one great granddaughter: Autumn Reed of Oklahoma City; sister: Edith Gregg of Abernathy, Texas; many nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laverty Baptist Church, Rt. 1 Box 670, Cement, OK 73017, the Alzheimer Association, or the charity of your choice.
