All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Laverty Cemetery--Laverty OK © The Chickasha Express-Star 28 Oct 2003 Delta Lee Johnston Funeral service for Delta Lee Johnston, 93, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at the Laverty Baptist Church. Delta Lee Johnston was born November 30, 1909, in Weatherford, Texas, the son of William Calvin and Lucy M. (Roberts) Johnston, and died October 26, 2003, in Chickasha. Mr. Johnston and Clara Mildred Wood were married November 3, 1930, in Chickasha. They had been married 67 years when Mildred passed away in 1998. They lived and farmed in the Laverty Community and were charter members of the Laverty Baptist Church. Mr. Johnston retired from the Oklahoma State Highway Department in 1974. He enjoyed many retirement years fishing at Lake Burtschi and visiting with friends. He resided at the Sterling House of Chickasha for the past 7 years. Mr. Johnston was also preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers: Olen, Edmond, Delbert, and W.B. Johnston. Survivors include: 2 sons and their wives: Lee and Patsy Johnston of Noble, Oklahoma, Bobby and Vicky Johnston of Oklahoma City; 1 sister, Thelma Perritt of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 4 grandchildren: Tim and Clara Johnston of Norman, Oklahoma, Sheri Johnston of Noble, Oklahoma, Teri and Tommy Shaver of Norman, Oklahoma, Tony and Staci Johnston of Glenpool, Oklahoma; 7 great grandchildren: Bailey, Dakota, Cody, Madison, Terin, Lane and Casidee.
