JOHNSON Funeral services for Vera L. Johnson, 91, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2004, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Vera Johnson was born Sept. 18, 1913, near Carnegie, Okla., and died on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Chickasha. Burial will be in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 12 November 2004 VERA L. JOHNSON Funeral services for Vera L. Johnson, 91, of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Vincent Gappa and Reverend Roscoe Strunk officiating. Vera was born September 18, 1913, near Carnegie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edward Kelley and Mary Smith Kelley. She died on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, in Chickasha. She grew up and attended schools at Pleasant View and Ft. Cobb. She married Austin Johnson on February 14, 1935, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Vera was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She cared for all of her family and friends unconditionally. She had a wonderful sense of humor and keen wit. She could always make you smile regardless of the circumstances. She was a previous member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Carnegie, and presently a member of the Nazarene Church in Chickasha. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Austin, both parents, three sons: Vernon Joe, Cletis, and Curtis Johnson; four sisters: Mary Jane Kelley, Odessa Steele, Fannie Sue Holsted, and Pearl King; two brothers: Henry Kelley, and Otis Kelley. She is survived by two daughters: Eleanor Brown and Evelyn Ruth Johnson, both of Chickasha; four grandchildren and their spouses: Steven Boyer, Larry and Carol Boyer, John and Genna Johnson, Lisa and Jon Crum; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Velma Koontz, of Los Alamitos, California, sister-in-law, Vaudie Kelley, of Carnegie, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
