Opal Josephine Jennings was born Nov. 23, 1925, and died on Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 22 Mat 2003 OPAL JOSEPHINE JENNINGS Funeral service for Opal Josephine Jennings, 77, of Weatherford, Okla., former Chickasha resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2003, in the Central Assembly Church in Chickasha. Opal Josephine Jennings was born November 21, 1925, in Pensecola, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charles Ora Hackney and Cloreen (Ferguson) Hackney. She died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Weatherford. Mrs. Jennings spent her early years in Van Buren and Rudy, Arkansas. She lived in Oklahoma City for 25 years before moving to Chickasha in 1958. She has lived in Weatherford for the last 5 years. She and Carl James Jennings were married September 23, 1949, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death May 16, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant child. David James Jennings, and by two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include: two daughters: Velda Cloreen Wood and husband Don of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Karen Sue Jennings of Chickasha; one son: Robert Allen Jennings and wife Kara of Blanchard, Oklahoma; two sisters: Befine Melton of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Bessie Culder of Florida; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
