Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 16 February 2001 James Ray Jarvis James Ray Jarvis was born December 2, 1950, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to J.D. and Maxine (McDaniel) Jarvis. He passed from this life quite suddenly on Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital, Anadarko, Oklahoma, at the age of 50 years, 2 months and 11 days. Ray was a lifetime resident of Anadarko, and graduated from Anadarko High School with the Class of 1969. He attended the University of Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University before joining his parents in the family-operated furniture store here. Ray and the former Carol Ellison were married in Anadarko on June 12, 1971. He opened Jarvis Furniture in Chickasha in 1976, and managed that until coming back to help his father in the Anadarko store. Ray was an avid golfer, and was also becoming a great chef. He also enjoyed boating and 'Web Surfing.' He was a member of the Anadarko Presbyterian Church and the Chickasha Country Club. He was preceded in death by both parents. Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the Anadarko home; two daughters, Kellie Dehnisch and her husband Michael, of Frisco, Texas, and Julie Jarvis of Oklahoma City; his 10-week-old granddaughter, Carley Ann Dehnisch, Frisco, Texas; his mother-in-law, Margaret Ellison, of Anadarko, and his sister-in-law, Janet Albright, and her husband Max, of Chickasha; also many thoughtful neighbors, and a wide circle of loving friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, at the Anadarko Presbyterian Church, with the pastor, Rev. Jack Eisel, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. The family has requested that those wishing to make memorial contributions in Ray's name make them to the American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY., 10019-4374.
