Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 24 February 2002 Karen Kay Jerdee Funeral service for Karen Kay Jerdee, age 62, of Ninnekah, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2002, at the Ninnekah United Methodist Church. Rev. Linda Pope will officiate. Karen was born the daughter of Harold Glen Steffen and Kathrine Vivian Johnson Steffen on August 24, 1939, in Hillsboro, Wisconsin. She departed from this life February 19, 2002, at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she had been hospitalized since January 18, 2002. In 1976, Karen moved to Ninnekah, OK, where she was currently living. She worked at McGrew Saddle Shop, was a cook at restaurants, and was a veterinary assistant in Chickasha. She retired in 1996 due to illness. Karen was an Executive Board member of the Ninnekah Senior Citizens Center and an active participant at the center. She was the local director for the Heartland Share Program in Ninnekah and a member of Eagles Auxiliary #4070 in Chickasha. Karen was a life-long Methodist and a member of the Ninnekah Methodist Church. Karen was a true friend to all and always had a kind word and a smile for everyone around her. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: son John Jerdee, of Tampa, Florida; son Jay Jerdee and his wife, Jessica, of Ninnekah; daughter Robin Schmidt and her husband, Jack, of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; brother John Steffen and his wife, Dian, of Blanchard; grandchildren, Rachel Jerdee, Jonna Jerdee, Jacob Jerdee, Lindsey Brown, Joel Jerdee, James and Jared Schmidt; and great grandchild Kendra Jerdee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ninnekah Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 16, Ninnekah, OK 73067. Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
