KEISMAN Funeral service for Caroline S. Keisman will be held Saturday, December 21, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment at Garden Mausoleum at Garden Mausoleum at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Caroline Keisman was born November 9, 1938, in Chickasha, to Amos Smotherman and Louise (Machell) Smotherman. She graduated from Oklahoma College For Women in Chickasha in 1958 and from East Central University in 1968 and taught in Seminole for 15 years retiring in 1984. She was an accomplished artist, known for her creative paintings on canvas, rocks, gourds, saws, driftwood, ties and other paintable surfaces. Every piece of art donated to charitable causes, from senior citizens groups, civic groups to individuals that should be recognized, hundreds have received a piece of her work. Her favorite group had to be Lions Club members, the Seminole Lions Club, the Lions of Oklahoma to The International Association of Lions Club. Caroline was the recipient of the Oklahoma Lions Humanitarian Service Award the highest honor bestowed by Lions to a non-Lion member in Oklahoma, presented May 3, 1999. Seminole Lions Club in 2001 recognized Caroline by naming their club's academic scholarship in her honor heretofore to be known as the Jim and Caroline Keisman Lion's Club Scholarship. May 30, 1989, she was named a Melvin Jones Fellow for her financial assistance to the Lions Club International Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy, in 1957; twin sons, Michael Wayne and Mark Duane, June 16, 1962. Survivors include: brother, Herb Smotherman, Richardson, TX; husband, Jim of the home; son, Bryan, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Keisman, of Seminole; son, Brent Keisman of Allen, TX; four grandchildren: Kim Jones of Hillsboro, TX, Chris Keisman of Seminole, Samantha Keisman of Allen, TX, Megan Keisman of Allen, TX.
