June 2, 2003, at the Plainview Mennonite Church. Lavina Koehn was born December 4, 1914, in Greensburg, Kansas, the daughter of Jobe and Helena Eck Smith. She died Friday, May 30, 2003, at her home in Cement. She had lived in this area most of her life. She worked as a cook at Shanoan Springs Nursing Home for 20 years. She and Jim Koehn were married October 2, 1940, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in 1970. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and seven brothers. Survivors include: three daughters, Gloria and husband Jerry Morse of Pollock. Louisiana, Rosie and husband Clyde Schmidt of Cement, Edella Parks of Chickasha; two sons, Mike and wife Carolee Koehn of Gering, Nebraska, Reynold and wife Norma Jean Koehn of Farmington, Kentucky; four stepsisters: Elizabeth Jantz of Chickasha, Florence Nightingale of Chickasha, Eva Redger of Chickasha, Dena Smith of Texas; brother and wife, Louie and Marie Smith of Newton, Kansas; sister-in-law: Bertha Smith of Chickasha; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Interment will be in Plainview Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
