She was born in Justin, TX, to Nonnie and Walter Frank on October 31, 1916. She moved to Marlow, OK, as a young child, and in 1928 they moved to Ninnekah, OK, where Dorothy graduated from Ninnekah High School. She then attended Oklahoma College for Women from 1935 to 1936, where she met and married Emanuel F. King on December 17, 1938. During World War II she worked for several banks while following her husband. When they returned to Oklahoma City in 1947, Dorothy went to work for the Federal Reserve Bank and then the Stockyards Bank, which she eventually retired from in 1973. In 1950 she became a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as assistant treasurer for many years. She also served as treasurer for the Capitol Hill Lions Club. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel F. King, on October 9, 1992. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends whom she dearly loved. The family would like to thank the staff for their care at Village on the Park, Grace Living Center and the Good Shepherd Hospice. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Good Shepherd Hospice or your favorite charity. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha.
