Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie King of Oklahoma City will be held at the Hawn-Cook Funeral Chapel at 119 NW 10th, Oklahoma City at 10 a.m. Monday, September 21. Burial will be in the Verden Cemetery with graveside services. Mrs. King, a sister of Jeff Satterwhite and Mrs. Fred Talkington, is a former Verden resident. Carrie Maude Satterwhite King passed away September 17, 1959 at the Deaconess hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 70 years, six months and 17 days. She was born near Chanute, Kansas on Mary 1, 1889. She came to Verden in 1906 and was married to Grant King in 2908. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1927. She leaves to mourn her departure six daughters, Mrs. Lavona Kinnick, Mrs. Goldie Hunsaker, Mrs. Marie Page and Mrs. Gladys Powers, all of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Nina Gatliss of Mulfreesboro, Arkansas and Mrs. Louise Seken of Miami, Oklahoma; two sons, Floyd and Richard King of Oklahoma City; one sister and one brother of Verden; 22 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
