All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 17 Jan 2003 Roger David King LONG BEACH, Miss. - Funeral for former Apache resident Roger David King, 69, Long Beach, Miss., will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Long Beach. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery, Apache. Mr. King died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Long Beach. Arrangements are by Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport, Miss. Local arrangements are by Crews Funeral Home, Apache. He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Chickasha, and grew up on a farm southeast of Apache. He attended Apache Schools and graduated in 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1953 and received many awards. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He was employed by Page Aircraft Maintenance Inc., Fort Sill, and at Fort Rucker, Ala., for 15 years. He began working with the Transportation Aviation Repair Shop (TARS) in 1972. He retired from the 1108th Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD) Gulfport, Miss, and the Mississippi Army National Guard, with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5 in 1993. He completed 41 years in aircraft maintenance. He was a resident of Long Beach for 30 years. He was a member of Long Beach First Baptist Church, where he was an usher and served on several committees. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn King; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill Jones, Weatherford, Texas; a son, Roger D. King Jr., Burleson, Texas; and a stepgrandson, Zachry Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. "Bill" King and Laree King; and two infant brothers. Friends may call from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church and from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Crews Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital Hospice, P.O.
