KENNEDY Funeral services for Newburn C. Kennedy, 91, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Newburn C. Kennedy was born March 29, 1911, in Hanna, Okla., and died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in Chickasha. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 10 September 2002 NEWBURN C. KENNEDY Funeral services for Newburn C. Kennedy, 91, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Newburn Kennedy was born March 19, 1911, in Hanna, Oklahoma. He passed away from this life to be with our Lord on September 8, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 10 days. He was preceded in death by his father, E. C. Kennedy, and mother, Lula Pearl Kennedy, and an infant brother. Newburn was married to Ruth Gray on December 23, 1938, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Newburn lived most of his life as a resident of Grady County. He was employed for many years by the Moore-Stauffer Company for whom he managed a grain elevator in Amber, the grain elevator and cotton gin in Tuttle and fertilizer plant in Chickasha. He was co-owner and assistant manager of Bernard Enterprises in Rush Springs. He retired thereafter due to failing health. Newburn loved and lived the rural agri-business life. He was a staunch supporter of 4-H and FFA organizations and an honorary member of the Amber-Pocasset FFA chapter. He was a Charter member of the Amber Lions Club. He was a member of the Parkview Christian Church in Chickasha and Lamplighters Sunday School class. Newburn is survived by his wife of 63 years, two sons: Bill and his wife Carol of Blanchard; Ronnie and his wife, Victoria of Byhalia, Mississippi; four grandsons: B. C. and his wife, Katarina, of Karlstad, Sweden; Mike and his wife Shannon of Moore, Oklahoma; Steve of Tulsa; and Phillip of Byhalia, Mississippi; one great- grandson, Johnathan of Piedmont; one sister, Jewel Vinson of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
