All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rush Springs Cemetery--Rush Springs OK The Rush Springs Gazette 4/29/1999 OBITUARY Annie Marguerite Conger Kirkpatrick, 93, Oklahoma City, died Saturday, April 24 1999 in Chickasha. Funeral services where held Monday, April 26 with a graveside service and burial in the Rush Springs Cemetery at 10:30am with the Rev Elmer Whitehead officiating. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born march 5, 1906, at Purdy to William Amos and Lula Betta Conger. The family moved to Ft Sumner NM and lived on a ranch for seven years then returned to Rush Springs where she attended grade school and high school. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and Oklahoma University where she graduated with a BS degree in educations n 1929. She began a teaching career at Friend School near Chickasha. She taught school at Newcastle then moved to Oklahoma City where she taught 15 years at Lafayette Elementary School. She married Wallace D Kirkpatrick August 1938 in Oklahoma City where she was a resident for 65 years. She was active in the Association of Retired Persons and Retired Federal Employees Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace in 1984 and a sister Eulene Nona Sheriff. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Vera Vernon of Lawrence KS; brother-in-law, Truitt Sheriff of ALbuquerque NM; nieces, Monica Landreth and husband Gary of Denton TX; Sydney Kay Jorgusen and husband Forrest of Chickasha, and Jane Ramsey of Wichita Falls, TX: newphes John and Randall SHeriff of Albuquerque NM; Michele Hanna Sprague of Perry KS, and Ben Bostwick Jr of Garfield AR, 16 great neices and nephews and 8 great great nieces and nephews. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
