MOSIE KARNES SERVICES HELD SAT. Funeral services for Mrs. Mosie Karnes were held Saturday April 30, at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist, with the Rev. Jim Robertson officiating. Helen Faye Lamar was born in Edgar Springs, Mo. January 21, 1906, and passed away in Verden, Okla. April 28, 1960 at the age of 54 yrs. 3 mo. and 7 days. Her family moved from Missouri to Verden in 1923. She was united in marriage to Mosie Karnes on August 15, 1939 at Verden, Okla. She was converted in the Baptist Church. Those left to mourn her departure are her husband, Mosie Karnes of Verden, two brothers, Harlen Lamar, of Rollo, Mo. and Bob Lamar of Chickasha, two sisters, Mrs. Marie Hinkle and Mrs. Denzil Barnett, both of Verden, also a host of other relatives and friends. Casket bearers were: Chester Heavin, Raymond Heavin, Oren Heavin, Donald Lair, Lester Heavin and Donald Heavin. Songs were "Rock of Ages," "Near to the Heart of God" and "Beyond the Sunset," rendered by a quartet composed of Mrs. Aubrey Finley, Mrs. Jim Robertson, Mrs. Donald Lair and Mrs. Dale Henricks, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Brown.
