The Verden News
September 6, 1940

Yvonne Karnes was born August 1, 1939 and passed away August 30, 1940 at the 
age of 1 year and 29 days.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church August 30, and interment was 
made in Verden cemetery

There are whips and tops and pieces of strings

And shoes that no little feet ever wear

There are bits of ribbon and broken things

And tresses of golden hair

There are dainty jackets that are never worn

There are tops and model of ships

There are books and pitures all faded and torn

And marked by finger tips

Of dimpled hands that have fallen to dust
