The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ==================================================================== The Verden News 29 December 1944 ORVILLE LOWE REPORTED MISSING IN ACTION First Lieutenant Orville Lowe, has been missing in action in Germany since December 9, according to word that his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lowe, received Thursday. Lt. Lowe was wounded in action in France in July for which he received the purple heart. He was in a hospital in England until recently when he returned to his division for active duty. Lowe received R. O. T. C. training while attending A and M College at Stillwater and was inducted into the regular army in May 1941. He received further training at Camp Walters and Camp Barkeley, Texas and Fort Benning, Georgia. He went across in January 1944. His wife and son, David, make their home in Tulsa.
