All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 17 Mar 1999 Robert Elmer Lewis Robert Elmer "Bob" Lewis, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Children's Chapel with the Rev. William D. Nix Jr., rector, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Lewis was born in Chickasha, Okla. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1937, New Mexico Military Institute in 1939 and the University of Texas in 1941. He retired as administrator of Texas State Technical Institute. Mr. Lewis was a volunteer for St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Program and served on the board of directors of the Maverick Club. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry and attended men's prayer group. He married Jane Cox in 1942 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patti Everett of Houston and Lisbeth Kidd of San Antonio; a brother, Quentin Lewis of Amarillo; and a granddaughter.
