MARY LAMB Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Lamb, 90, were held at the First Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 16 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Wilkerson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Lamb passed away December 14 in Grady Memorial Hospital, Chickasha. Mary Elizabeth McWhorter was born November 13, 1869 in Douglasville, Georgia to Rev. and Mrs. Paul P. McWhorter (Rev. McWhorter was one of the early-day Methodist circuit riders in Indian Territory.) She moved with her family to Arkansas in 2885. She married William A. Lamb at Dardanelle, Arkansas on October 27, 1887. They moved to Union City, Okla. in 1889 and to the Verden community in 1903 where she had since lived. Her husband passed away on September 30, 1949. Two daughters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Lamb was one of the earliest members of the Verden Methodist Church. She was also an honorary member of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, James Marvin of Mustang, Okla.; Robert Alfred, Verden and Ernist Earl of Enid; three daughters, Mrs. Dalton Noel, and Mrs. Florence Beene, Verden; Mrs. Roberts Davis, Anadarko; 13 grandchildren including one N. N. Morris, Jr., whom she reared; 14 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Maude Hostick, Bartlesville, Okla.; Mrs. Jodie Hilderick, Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Edna Wilson, Chickasha. A quartet composed of Mrs. Donald Brown, Mrs. Velma Eskew, Mrs. James Wilkerson, and Mrs. Dale Henricks, sang "Amazing Grace," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. B. E. Heisler accompanied them. Casket bearers were W. O. Heavin, Russell P. Hamrick, Paul DeBoard, Wiley Weaver, Debs Patterson and John G.
