Vivian Elizabeth Lair was born June 7, 1925 in Tuttle, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sylgh Doc and Wilma Anna (Brown) Bennett and died Sunday, March 18, 2001 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Vivian married T.J. Lair on May 20, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was a wife, mother, sister and homemaker. Vivian devoted her entire life to her family. She spent hours working on the family farm and taking care of everyone else. There was always room for one more at her home. Vivian loved to sew, garden, try out new recipes and loved to talk about her grandchildren. She was an avid genealogist, spending many hours researching her roots, and was in the process of completing a book. She was preceded in death by: her parents: Sylgh Doc and Wilma Bennett; 2 brothers: J.C. Bennett, A.F. Bennett; 1 sister: Bonnie Bennett; 1 grandson: James Edward Lair; 1 granddaughter: Brandi Dawn Lair. Survivors include: her husband: T.J. Lair of the home in Tuttle; 4 daughters and their husbands: Shelley and Sandy Hill of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Laura and Mike Roberts of Alabaster, Alabama, Gayle and Joe Arterberry of Amber, Oklahoma, Rita and Tim Henderson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 4 sons and their wives: Tommy and Diane Lair of Tuttle, Oklahoma, John and Michaeleen Lair of Amber, Oklahoma, David Lair of Minco, Oklahoma, Roy Lee Lair of the home in Tuttle; 2 sisters: Jean Streber of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Anna Mae Owens of Midwest City, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was the loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.
