Mayo Funeral service for D.T. Mayo, 93, of Lubbock, Texas, former Chickasha resident, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2001, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha. D.T. Mayo was born August 11, 1908, and died August 23, 2001, at the Lubbock Hospitality House. He married Josephine Roach March 11, 1933, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He ran the Mayo Conoco Station for over 35 years. He then worked at Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts until his retirement in 1973. He was a member and served as deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Mayo lived in Chickasha, Oklahoma, most of his life, where he was a deacon for many years in the First Baptist Church. He was also a long time member of the Chickasha Lions Club. He and his wife moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1994. Mr. Mayo was preceded in death by: his parents: W.A. and Paradine Mayo; wife: Josephine Mayo; 1 daughter, Linda; 3 brothers, Emmert, Ray, and Walter; 2 sisters, Hazel and Tinnie. Survivors include: 1 sister: Rosa Lile of Lawton, Oklahoma; 1 daughter and son-in-law: Beth and Bobby Jones of Lubbock, Texas; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
