All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian 25 September 2004 MILDRED ARVILLA MURPHY Nov. 2, 1932 - Sept. 23, 2004 Millie passed away in a Bakersfield Hospital after a battle with cancer. Her family moved from Alex, Oklahoma in 1945 to Shafter where the Lewis family resided. Millie was born to James and Bessie Lewis and was the sixth of seven children. Millie moved to Bakersfield in 1960 and worked as a waitress for 32 years and retired in 1992. She enjoyed traveling, taking small trips with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren on holidays and birthdays. She is survived by her siblings, Alvin Lewis of Arkansas, Lillian Sharp of Shafter and Bobby Lewis of Bakersfield; her children, Frank Chapman of Bakersfield, Sharon Hellbusch LaFever and son-in-law, Steven LaFever, her grandchildren, Jason and Debbie Hellbusch of Visalia, Ryan, Jeremy and Tara Chapman of Bakersfield; her great grandchildren, Lexy, Moniz, Presley and Beau Hellbusch. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, in the Shafter Cemetery. Visitations will be Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. in the Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Avenue.
