Massey, 80, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Don Gibson of the First Christian Church officiating. Louella Georgia Massey was born April 3, 1924, in El Reno, Oklahoma the daughter of George W. Vogel and Anna M. Weise Vogel. She died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at her home in Chickasha. Louella grew up on the family farm near Union City, Oklahoma, where she attended grade school. As she began Junior High School, she attended Pocasset Public Schools, graduating from high school there in 1942. After high school graduation she attended the Oklahoma College For Women, now U.S.A.O. in Chickasha. She was employed with the Borden General Hospital during WW II and later with Mulligan Abstract Company. Louella married Asa J. Massey on May 28, 1948, in Chickasha. She and Asa spent many years living in different areas, including Louisiana, Texas and Coppenhagan, Denmark, due to his position in the oil fields. They returned to Chickasha in 1996. Louella was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and especially cooking big family dinners for her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Lorene Martha Vogel. Survivors include her husband, Asa, of the home; two sons and daughters- in-law, Kenneth D and Jane Massery, of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Ralph P. and Cindy Massey, of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister, Lilas Shipp, of Oklahoma City; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Betty Vogel, of Claremore, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
