All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Rose Hill Cemetery--Chickasha OK © The Chickasha Express-Star 06 Feb 2004 Blanche Marie McCoy Funeral for Blanche Marie McCoy, 89, Lawton, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Northwest Church of Christ with Monte Ginnings, minister, Northwest Church of Christ, and Harold McRay, retired Church of Christ minister, Lawton, officiating. Mrs. McCoy died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born on April 8, 1914, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Myrtle (Kaser) Wosika. She attended North Oklahoma Junior College and received her teaching certificate there. After college, she taught one year of school. She married John U. McCoy in Blackwell on May 9, 1937. He died in January of 1992. She was artistic musically and taught piano for a number of years. She also won prizes at local fairs for her canned goods and handiwork. She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ and a former member of the Schubert Music Club in Healdton, Oklahoma, and of several home demonstration clubs. She also taught Bible classes through correspondence to over 10,000 people in Africa. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sandy McCoy of Richardson, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Huelan Bracken of Lawton; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in- law, Pearl and Mike Blando of Ponca City; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Millie Wosika of Newkirk. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Church of Christ Building Fund, Tipton Children’s Home or to the Hospice of Lawton Area, Inc.
