All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Anadarko Daily News 24 September 1986 INEZ McVEY VERDEN - Services for Inez McVey, 73, of Chickasha will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Verden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ben Williams, pastor, officiating, and Ray Caltin assisting. McVey was born Sept. 9, 1913 in Stratford and died Tuesday in Benbrook, Texas. After her marriage se came to the Verden area and lived north of Verden until 1983, when she moved to Chickasha. She was a member of the Chickasaw Nation and the Verden United Methodist Church. She married John A. McVey Oct. 7, 1937 in Idabel. He died Jan. 18, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Louis Carroll Nichols and Hannah Strickland Nichols; three brothers, Denver, Charlie and L. C. Nichols; one sister, Bessie Skaggs, and one grandson, John David McVey, Jr. Survivors include three sons, George of Verden, John D. of Chickasha and Stephen of Moore; two daughters, Mary M. Warburton of Benbrook and Janie M. Thomas of Lewisville, Texas; two brothers, Ernest Nichols of Ada and Wayne Nichols of Stratgord; three sisters, Ora Britt of Riverbank, Calif., and Anna Owens and Mildred Hall, both of Stratford; 13 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Burial will be in the Verden Cemetery under direction of the Hansen-Binyon Chapel of the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
