All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Chickasha OK Funeral service for Berta Faye Mosley, age 94, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1000 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2000 in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Jim Sheerer will officiate and Steve Parker will assist. Berta Faye was born on September 17, 1905, the daughter of J.H. Stubblefield and Amanda Lowry Stubblefield, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She died on Friday, September 1, 2000, in Chickasha. Berta grew up east of Rush Springs and graduated from Rush Springs High School. She married Joe Wheeler Mosley on July 3, 1922 in Chickasha. Berta became certified to teach and immediately began teaching in rural Grady County schools. She attended college at East Central in Ada and later attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she graduated with a degree in education. Berta got her masters degree at Oklahoma University. She continued to teach at schools in Grady County until her retirement in 1967. Berta retired with over forty years in the classroom. Berta was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. During her life she was very active in many aspects of work in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband, one daughter, and one grandchild. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John and Evelyn Mosley of Chickasha; granddaughter, Sue Helms of Canadian, Texas; granddaughter, Debra Maley of Dayton, Texas; grandson, Mike Mosley of Chickasha; grandson, Chris Mosley of Chickasha; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
