McCalla, Jr. Funeral for Thomas Richard (T.R.) McCalla, Jr., longtime cattleman and rancher, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2003 in the chapel of Ferguson Funeral home. Rev. Jerald Joslin will officiate with Jack Biby assisting. Mr. McCalla was born April 22, 1910, in Chickasha, the son of Thomas Richard McCalla and Emma (Bailey) McCalla. He died Friday, August 22, 2003, in Chickasha, at the age of 93. T.R. married Prebble Louise Hastings on January 4, 1936, in Chickasha. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1990. T.R. then married Nancy Lewis of Chickasha. He was the past president of the Oklahoma Hereford Association, past president of the Grady County Cattleman's Association, and a member of the Rotary Club. He was also presented with the Distinguished Master Breeder Award by Oklahoma State University. He attended the New Hope Full Gospel Church in Dibble, Oklahoma. Mr. McCalla was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Hastings McCalla; both parents; three brothers: Bailey McCalla, Bill McCalla, and Woodrow McCalla; and one sister, Beulah McCalla. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; two sons: Stephen Richard (Dick) McCalla and his wife, Ann, of Chickasha, John N. McCalla and his wife, Priscilla, of Oakton, VA; one daughter, Melissa Edwards and her husband, Dave, of Norman; one sister, Hazel Cowan, of Chickasha; two step- sons: John Jones and his wife, Bobbie, of Yukon, James Jones, of Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Ruth Gracey, of Godfrey, IL; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
