LITTLE GIRL BURNED TO DEATH


Cora McClendon, the little 7-year-old daughter of L. L. McClendon living 
seven miles southwest of Verden, received such serious burns while starting a 
fire last Wednesday that it resulted in her death.  It seems that the little 
girl was in the house by herself at the time and in trying to build a fire, 
her clothing caught and before help could reach her she had been burned so 
badly that death was the result.  She was buried in the Verden cemetery 
Thursday afternoon.
