L. McClendon living seven miles southwest of Verden, received such serious burns while starting a fire last Wednesday that it resulted in her death. It seems that the little girl was in the house by herself at the time and in trying to build a fire, her clothing caught and before help could reach her she had been burned so badly that death was the result. She was buried in the Verden cemetery Thursday afternoon. Submitted by Sandi Carter
