Lydia Jane Reeves McClaran was born July 4, 1907, in Chickasha, Indian Territory, the daughter of Grace Mae (Johnson) Reeves and Andrew Fleming Reeves and died June 25, 2002, in Chickasha. Lydia lived in Chickasha most of her life. She married Maurice Ira McClaran January 12, 1934, in her parents' home in Chickasha. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 18 years. She and her husband also operated the McClaran Cabinet Shop. Lydia was a member of the First Christian Church, 20th Century Sunday School Class and the Swander Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Ira McClaran, December of 2001, her parents and 1 brother, Clarence Reeves. Survivors include: 1 son and daughter-in-law: David and Claudia McClaran, of Noble, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren: Paul David Henderson and wife, Belinda, of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dawn Marquis and husband, Wes, of Norman, Oklahoma, Timothy David McClaran and wife, Shelli, of Mayport, Florida; great grandchildren: Jennifer Dawn Marquis and Taylor Anne Marquis, of Norman, Oklahoma, Stephen Timothy McClaran and Julian Alexander McClaran, of Mayport, Florida; 1 brother and sister-in-law: Earl and Dorothea Reeves, of Chickasha; 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
