McElreath Funeral services for Rosalia J. McElreath, 94, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, FEb. 9, 2004, at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church. Rosalia J. McElreath was born March 6, 1909, in Norge, Okla., and died on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in Chickasha. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========= © The Chickasha Express-Star 08 Feb 2004 Rosalia J. McElreath Funeral services for Rosalia J. McElreath, 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 09, 2004, in the Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rosalia J. McElreath was born March 06, 1909, in Norge, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lewis Harvard Nelson and Clara Berga Nelson. She died Thursday, February 05, 2004, in Chickasha. Rosalia grew up in the Chickasha area and attended Grady County Rural Schools. She graduated from Pioneer High School. After high school, she attended OCW in Chickasha (now USAO) and later graduated from OCW with a degree in education. She taught in several Grady County schools, eventually retiring from Riverside Indian School in Caddo County. Rosalia married Howard McElreath in Duncan in 1931. She was a member of the Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rosalia was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Howard, in 1985, and four brothers, Jasper, Lyle, Vernon, and Dr. Arnold Nelson. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Frances and A.N. Ice, of Geary, OK, and Anita and Jerry Burkey, of Fletcher, OK; two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Iris McElreath, of May, TX, and James Allen and Bernice McElreath, of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law, Cordia and Ralph White of Chickasha; two sisters-in-law: Wanda Nelson, of Midwest City, OK, and Janelle Nelson, of Dallas, TX; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
