The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 31 July 2002 ESTHER MAY MOOTER MCNEFF Funeral service for Esther May Mooter McNeff, 86, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2002, at the Tuttle First United Methodist Church. Esther May Mooter McNeff was born in Tuttle, Oklahoma, on November 23, 1915. She passed away at her home on July 29, 2002. She was the only child of Earl and Gladys Viola (Smothers) Mooter. Her grandparents were early day settlers in the Tuttle community where she lived her entire life. She graduated from Tuttle High School in 1933. She married George E. McNeff on March 4, 1933, and together they farmed and raised their family of four children. Esther has been a member of the Tuttle Methodist Church for 80 years and at the time of her death was the longest living member. She was a member of the Mary Circle of the United Methodist Women. She had played the piano in church and also accompanied the High School Boys Glee Club. Esther was also a member of the Home Extension Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George, on September 20, 1999, and her parents, Earl and Gladys Viola Mooter. Survivors include: 4 children: Viola Alexander and husband, Buddy, of Yukon, Oklahoma. George McNeff, Jr., and wife, Lou, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Betty Haryman and husband, Bob, of Gallatin, Missouri, Larry McNeff and wife, Jane, of Mustang, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Esther was a gentle, kind, Christian lady and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Tuttle First United Methodist Church.
