Wayne McKenzie, age 50, of Lindsay, passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, in Norman. He was born on March 4, 1953, in Lindsay, to Frank Austin McKenzie and Geraldine Howell McKenzie. He attended many different schools during his youth and graduated in Ulysses, Kansas. Wayne married Shirley Jo Reed on December 23, 1971, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy for 6 years after his high school graduation. Wayne worked in the oilfield for the majority of his life. He owned and operated McKenzie Oilfield Service. Wayne enjoyed cooking out for family and friends, and spending as much time as he could with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jo McKenzie, of the home; and father, Frank McKenzie; children: Ernest Wayne McKenzie, Jr., and wife Malisa, Martin Houston McKenzie and wife Kalena, Bobbie Jo McKenzie and Andrew Steven Retorick; siblings: Errol Austin McKenzie and LaDonna Sue Smith and husband, Steve; granddaughters: Arial Beth, Saydi Kay Lynn, Madison Nicole; and grandson Garrett Reed McKenzie. Wayne is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Geraldine McKenzie. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, with Thomas Thompson, officiating. Pallbearers include: Ricky McKenzie, Roger McKenzie, Russ McKenzie, Kent McLemore, Junior Crawford, Tim Stucks and Travis Stucks. Honorary pallbearers include: Ernest Wayne McKenzie, Jr., Martin Houston McKenzie, Andrew Steven Retorick, George Kulbeth, Bobby Suns, Ricky Williams and Joey Williams.
