The Verden News
June 29, 1917


James Mathews, age 56 years, died at his home five miles southwest of 
Verden, Saturday, June 23.

Deceased was a native of Tennessee and a son-in-law of Mrs. Pelzer, 
living south of Verden. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn 
his loss.

Funeral services were held at the home Sunday and interment made in the 
Verden cemetery.
