MILLS SERVICES TO BE HELD FRIDAY Funeral services for H. C. Mills will be conducted at 2 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, at the Baptist Church with Rev. C. W. Taylor officiating, assisted by Rev. J. H. Humphreys, pastor. Mrs. Ivy Horn has charge of the music. Songs to be rendered are "The Old Rugged Cross," "Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Nearer My God To Thee." Casket bearers are Martin Henry, G. C. McVey, Bert E. Heisler, Dick Brown, Frank Jasperson and Kirby Whitley. The local I. O. O. F. Lodge will have charge of commital services at the cemetery. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Hesekiah C. Mills was born July 4, 1887 in Tennessee and died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 29 in the Cottage hospital at Chickasha following a lingering illness, at the age of 60 years, three months and 25 days. Mr. Mills came to Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1903 and to Verden in 1913 and has been here most of the time since. He operated a garage, filling station and farmed. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the IOOF Lodge. "His life was gentle, but like the still waters it was deep. In his heart of hearts he carried those he loved, and his hand was never weary, his st ep never failed in ministering unto, caring for, waiting upon those who were in any way dependent upon him." Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Addie Mills; two sons, J. B. of Chickasha and Pvt. Mickey Don of San Antonio, Texas, U. S.
