Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at the Cherokee Nazarene Church with the Rev. Charles Ustler officiating and the Rev. Chleo Brown assisting. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Family visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. She was born May 8, 1913 in Union County, New Mexico to Albert and Pearl Green Patterson and died Saturday, September 23, 2000 in Chickasha. In the spring of 1918 she moved with her parents to a farm south of Cherokee. She attended Prairie Valley Grade School and graduated from Lambert High School in 1933. Iva Patterson married George Ross Bible on July 19, 1937. They had five children, Georgia, Clara, Albert, Edward and Richard. Ross Bible died October 9, 1957. Iva was married on January 5, 1960 to Otis (Tex) Merrill. He died December 17, 1964. On July 25, 1972 she married Edgar Miller. He died April 23, 1994. She worked at Kern's Cafe in Cherokee for 13 years, and Cherokee Manor Nursing Home for 18 1/2 years, retiring in September 1984. In July l995, she moved to Chickasha. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocasset. Surviving is a daughter, Georgia and her husband, Rodney Sayers of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sons, Edward Bible and his wife, Cathy of Platteville, WI and Richard Bible of Harper, Kansas; a son-in-law, Floyd Kirkland of Pocasset; several step-children; two step-brothers, Cifford McClaflin of Ponca City and Lloyd McClaflin of Seattle, Washington; l2 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Kirkland, a son, Albert Bible, a grandson, Eric Bible, three brothers and two sisters.
