Moon, 77, a kind man of strength and character, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 21, 2005. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 N. Davis Drive in Arlington. Interment: noon Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Lane A, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 102454, Atlanta, Ga. 30368; or a charity of choice. Bill was born April 22, 1927, in Grady County, Okla., and raised in Tuttle, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, Bill and Jeane moved to Corpus Christi where he began his career with Reynolds Aluminum. They had the opportunity to live in Corpus Christi, Portland, Ore., Venezuela and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bill retired from Reynolds after 30 years and he and Jeane moved to Arlington where they lived for over 23 years. They were members of Fielder Road Baptist Church. Bill was a master gardener and for many years used his talents as a volunteer with the parks department in Arlington. In May 1993, he was honored as the City of Arlington Volunteer of the Month. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Jeane Moon; children, Garry Moon and wife, Mari DuPree Moon of Hurst and Mark Moon and wife, Sara of Plano; grandchildren, Anthony Burns of Los Angeles, Calif., Andrew DuPree Moon and Alex William Moon of Denton; sisters, Opal Johnson of Mustang, Okla., and Joan Arterbury of Oklahoma City, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews.
