All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 24 August 2004 WILMUR EDWARD "BUD" MONK Wilmur Edward Monk, son of James and Nellie (Kiley) Monk, was born November 12, 1915, in Ruthven, Iowa. He attended school in Ruthven and graduated from Ruthven High School. On June 1, 1944, Wilmur was united in marriage to Izetta C. Corley at Assumption Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. To this union two children were born. Bud and Izetta farmed near Dickens for many years. He moved to Oklahoma to be near his son in 2002. Bud was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ruthven. He enjoyed fishing in hisf free time. Bud died Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Izetta. He is survived by his children, Dr. James Monk and his wife, Karen of Chickasha, OK, and Phyllis Tamasi and her husband, Tom of Savage, MN; five grandchildren; sisters, Eva Rosaker of Ruthven, IA, Alice Rosaker of Ruthven, IA, Irene Theilen of Charles City, IA, and Leone Larson of Ruthven, IA, as well as many other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
