Funeral services were held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2003. A graveside service was held that same day at 1:30 p.m. at Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs Oklahoma. She was born August 11, 1913, 2 in Emil R. and Lillian M. Schiemann in Rush Springs Oklahoma. Following graduation from Rush Springs High School she attended Oklahoma College for Women into Chickasha where she graduated with a degree in music. She was married to R. V. Manis, Jr. from 1934 to 1945. During World War II she was employed as a storekeeper with the Army Air Force at Goodfellow Field in San Angelo, Texas. Following the war she moved Oklahoma City and was employed by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company where she worked for more than 30 years prior to her retirement in 1978. She is a longtime member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and active in the Chappel Sunday school class. Other memberships included Women's Committee of Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra, National Secretaries Association (now international Association Administrative Professionals, and Civic Music Association. Following her retirement he continued to participateand enjoy the two activities of both the OG&E Pioneer Club and the OG&E Trailblazers. She is survived by several cousins and many loving and devoted friends. Elda's family and friends are most grateful for the wonderful, loving care she received from the compassionate caregivers in a Susannah Wesley nursing unit at Epworth Villa.
