(DICK) MONSON Memorial service for Charles R. (Dick) Monson, 71, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2003, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. CHARLES R. (DICK) MONSON was born August 29, 1932, in Addington, Oklahoma the son of Ernest and Helen (McKenney) Monson and died September 29, 2003, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Dick graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Chickasha, as Salutatorian in 1951. He was a veteran of the U. S. N. R. He received his BA and Masters Degree from Central State University (now U. C. O. ) where he was active in the Senate Club and Kappa Pi Honorary Art Fraternity. After teaching for two years, he began work in the Investigation Division of Equifax Services from which he retired in 1987. He then worked part- time for P.M.I. and J.C. Penney Co. until 1994. Dick was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church. A fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and former member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Chickasha Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by: Parents: Ernest and Helen Monson; 2 uncles: G. M. McKenney and C. R. McKenney. Survivors include: His fiancee: Gloria A. Massey of Chickasha; 2 aunts: Jane McKenney of Midland, Texas, Mildred McKenney of Lawton, Oklahoma; 5 cousins: Earnest, Michael and Katie McKenney of Austin, Texas, Ed McKenney of Miami, Florida, Bill Tharp of Rogers, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
